At Webpop we're working hard at building the best hosted CMS for professional designers, agencies and their clients.
During the last year we've built a powerful tool that we believe can make a real difference for web designers, and the feedback we've been getting during the last 6 months of beta has been enormously encouraging.
There's one question we've been getting more than any other, and one we so far haven't been able to give a clear answer to: "What's this going to cost?"
Today we're happy to finally announce the initial pricing for Webpop.
For the hard facts, check our new Plans and Pricing section. For the longer story, read on.
Webpop is a tool for professionals so it's been important for us to set a pricing model that lets us run a solid and profitable business that others can feel safe building upon. At the same time we've also wanted to find a model that would still allow individual designers to build portfolios, make experiments, launch quick landing pages and just play around.
Most of our competitors charge on a per project basis or with plans that are tightly tied to a number of projects, typically with a cost that would discourage designers from making small personal sites like instagramadrid.com, twoixter.com or allanrey.es
We wanted to find a model that would allow for this kind of playful projects – simply because we love them! – while at the same time charging a reasonable price for commercial sites made for a client.
Our solution has been to tie pricing far tighter to the number of client users than to the number of projects in an account. This lets us keep the price for personal projects, static landing pages or experiments very low, while charging a fair price for projects made for a client.
We think this is a fair solution that should work for both agencies, freelancers and even hobbyists. Take a look at our plans and pricing section and let us know what you think.
